UWP AMBASSADOR

Are you bold? Do you have the guts to talk to people who could help the UWP Project in a big way? Let’s talk.

UWP OUTPOST COMMANDER

Do you live in some far corner of the universe? Wonderful! This is a far-flung project. Be an Outpost Commander and spread the word about UWP’s important work in your part of the world.

RACONTEUR

Like to gab? Give a talk about UWP’s work and mission to a group in your area.

COMPUTER ARCHITECT

Can you build a computer from the motherboard up? The UWP computers are old (really old). We need a couple of high-powered boxes for image and video editing.

QUIET ON THE SET!

UWP interviews informants about plants and plant uses. If you can hold a boom pole, focus a video camera, or help set up equipment, we could use your help.

ROSTER WRANGLER

Keep track of UWP’s contributors and members. Enter names of new members in the database. Send out renewal notices.

MEDIA MOGUL

Send press releases about UWP events to newspapers, TV, and radio stations. Make new media contacts. Spread the word.

BOOTH BOOSTER

Work at UWP’s booth at festivals and shows. Talk to people. Pass out brochures.

DISPLAY MAKER

Help create displays for UWP’s displays at events like the Texas Book Festival, etc.

OFFICE WHIRLWIND

This could be anything — data entry, making copies, filing, organizing, you name it, all sorts of things need to be done.

PLANT REMBRANDT

Drawings are needed to illustrate newsletter articles. Interested? Submit samples of your work.

CLIPPING SNIPPER

Read any good articles about plant uses, species distributions, and the like lately? Clip or photocopy it and send it in for the research files. Or email us the link at research@usefulwildplants.org.

NITPICKER

Are you one of those people who just can’t not mark a mispl, aced comma or mispelled word in that book you’re reading? UWP needs picky people like you to copy edit text.

DIGIT-IZER

20 wpm or 120, it doesn’t matter. Help keep UWP’s research files in good order by entering publications into EndNote and names and addresses into the database.

WORDSMITH

How about putting pen to paper and writing an article for the UWP Update? Submit your ideas.

SNAP DRAGON

Pretend you’re the paparazzi. Photograph UWP events.

TAPE PLAYER

Transcribe interviews of interesting people talking about interesting plants.

Get in touch.

Any small job helps!
